President Biden Celebrates 80th Birthday, Becoming Oldest Person to Hold the Office

President Joseph R. Biden Jr. turns 80 on Sunday, November 20

Marking a historic milestone as the first octogenarian to serve as President of the United States.

Biden, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1942, has dedicated nearly half a century to public service. Prior to becoming the 46th President in 2021, he served as the 47th Vice President under former President Barack Obama.

Throughout his political career, Biden has endured significant personal loss, including the tragic deaths of his first wife and daughter in a car accident in 1972 and his son, Beau, to brain cancer in 2015.

Despite these challenges, Biden remains a resilient and determined leader. At the age of 29, he became one of the youngest individuals ever elected to the U.S. Senate. His decades of experience in government have shaped his perspective and policies as President.
